NEBC HOSPITALITY + CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM

NEBC Hospitality + Culinary Arts Program focuses on a range of instruction in culinary arts and hospitality training for employability in the food service industry. The program teaches adults the technical skills for food preparation and plating, scaffolded by coaching on how to prepare health-conscious meals. In addition, it provides a seminar on employability and job searching. This includes resume-writing, interviewing skills, and job application help.

The Cook County Justice Advisory Council approved and funded this program as a means of providing a safe space with alternative activities for youth/young adults to deter the spread of gang violence.

The Program is aligned with NEBC Employment Resource Services' primary goal, which is to prepare youth and young adults for an increasingly evolving and challenging demands of our city's workforce. Success in the job marketplace requires hard and soft skills training, and this program is how we address that need.
